AKA "Danny" "Dunny" "Dan"

March 20, 1990 to January 21, 2009

Lots of folks have asked us about Danny and how he is doing; where he's been, etc. Danny was retired early in 2007. His knee just got too bad; too painful. Those of you who knew Danny also knew that he would have run blind on 3 legs if you asked him to, but we just couldn't keep asking him to suck it up. He trained allot of beginners and took care of even more. We felt that as long as Danny could get around a little, graze, play in the pond, nicker at a mare, or kick up at another gelding, he deserved to take it easy for a while. So, Danny spent the last last year and a 1/2 in Palestine, Texas at Camp Bette Perot quietly and willingly working as a horsemanship class horse where young girls learned to groom and care for horses.

On January 19, 2009, Danny went off his feed. A couple of days later, his knee finally collapsed and he was unable to bear any weight on it at all. So many of us had asked so much of Danny over the years and he was always willing. The time to give back to him for taking care of so many of us was long overdue, so the decision was made to euthanize Danny so that he could rest in peace.
